Equilibrium and Kinetics of Thermal Ordering or Disordering in Ni3Alrmal ordering (or disordering) kinetics shows that two first order processes are involved. The order change-rates are dependent on composition; they are minimum at stoichiometry and increase with off-stoichiometry. The presence of a third element (Ti or Ta) results in a slower diffusion.

Calorimetric Study of Reordering of Disordered L12, Ni3Al Based Alloyss this decay leads to a state where the sample is still able to transform, as it is evidenced on further continuous heating experiments. Three different processes have been identified, the more energetic corresponding to the reordering process. The kinetic parameters of the reordering process have been obtained and are discussed.

Magnetic Properties of Disordered L12-Ni3Al + Ferdered state have been determined for several compositions. They are lower than those of the ordered state and vary strongly with concentration and especially with Fe content The weaker ferromagnetism of the disordered state is attributable to a lower number of Fe-Ni nearest neighbors in the disordered fcc state.

Resistivity Variations During Ordering and DisorderingIt is shown that a lot of information on the ordering process can be gained concerning ordering relaxation, equilibrium of order and order parameter. For a more complicated behaviour (critical behaviour at T or parallel development of SRO and LRO in addition to resistivity) information by other methods would be advantageous.

Disordering by Plastic Deformation of Short-Range and Long-Range Ordered Ni-Based Alloysor representing the respective contributions of these two processes to the total resistivity variation. Disordering efficiency was found to be very different in short-range and long-range ordered materials.

Ordering and Disordering in CuPt-Alloys are attributed to LRO and SRO, respectively, being in competition: Short annealing times support SRO and the formation of LRO is suppressed. Prolonged annealing times yield a corresponding increase of LRO. These findings are confirmed by X-ray diffraction at wide and small angles.
