Constraints Affecting Forage Availability in Himalayan Region,ia cultural, religious beliefs and economical perspectives. Though rearing of livestock is a major occupation of the rural households of the Himalayan region, the productivity of livestock is still low and could be attributed to different underlying constraints.

Factors Influencing Forage Nutritional Quality,g and interrelationship among these factors with forage quality would help in making appropriate selection of forages and supplements that would match animal requirements and result in economically favored livestock performances. Different factors affecting forage quality have been presented and discussed.

The availability of grazing land is continuously decreasing and this trend could result in an acute shortage of fodder to feed livestock in nearby future.
