Finite Element Methods for Unsteady Problems,der hyperbolic problems follows. The initial value problems that are generated by semi-discretization methods are very stiff, which demands a careful choice of the time integration codes for such problems. Numerical Methods for Variational Inequalities and Optimal Control, optimality conditions do not lead automatically to variational equations, but may instead be formulated as variational inequalities.
