Uptake of Oocyte Nuclear Proteins by Nuclei of , Embryos,breakdown leads to the loss of a compartment for the nuclear proteins (3, 4). They are distributed in the cytoplasm of the mature egg, mainly in the animal hemisphere where later in development most of the nuclei of the embryo will appear (3, 4). After fertilization, these proteins are reaccumulated by the newly generated nuclei of the embryo.
