Regulation of Alternative Splicing of Pre-mRNAs by Stresses, in this chapter, it appears that alternative splicing generates transcriptome/proteome complexity that is likely to be important for stress adaptation. However, the signaling pathways that relay stress conditions to splicing machinery and if and how the alternative spliced products confer adaptive advantages to plants are poorly understood.

U12-Dependent Intron Splicing in Plants,n unique characteristic features of plant U2 introns, such as UA-richness, which suggests a requirement for plant-specific components for both the U2 and U12 splicing reaction. This chapter compares U12 and U2 splicing and reviews what is known about plant U12 introns and their possible role in gene

mRNA Cap Binding Proteins: Effects on Abscisic Acid Signal Transduction, mRNA Processing, and Microh may result in the regulation of flowering time. Furthermore, new experiments analyzing complementation of . with site-directed . mutants provide evidence that the CAP binding activity of CBP20 is essential for the observed .-associated phenotypes..In conclusion, mutants in genes participating in R

,Messenger RNA 3′ End Formation in Plants, adenylation complex. In this review, the current status of understanding of mRNA 3′ end formation in plants is discussed. In particular, the nature of mRNA 3′ ends in plants is reviewed, as are recent studies that are beginning to yield insight into the functioning and regulation of plant polyadenyl
