Nonlinear Dynamics of Vertical-Cavity Surface-Emitting Lasers: Deterministic Chaos and Random Numberhat considering a slight misalignment of the anisotropies of the laser cavity allows to reproduce these dynamics numerically. Finally, we propose a simple scheme for random bit generation exploiting polarization chaos, and experimentally demonstrate a 100 Gbps random generation rate.

Splitting, Hatching and Transformation of the Repetition Rate in a Mode- Locked Laser transformation is accompanied by hatching of the beat note signal. Both states are well-balanced: the changes in one state manifest with equivalent amplitudes in the other state. We propose that this effect is an evidence of a bifurcation sequence phenomenon.

Stabilization of Broad Area Semiconductor Amplifiers by Spatially Modulated Potentialsr amplification regimes and (ii) the modulation instability (also called Bespalov-Talanov instability) in nonlinear regimes. The elimination of these two drawbacks can significantly improve the spatial quality of the emitted beam in BAS amplifiers.
