Thermonuclear Supernovae: Combining Astrophysical and Terrestrial Combustion,a deflagration to a detonation. Then simulations of the deflagration stage of a Type Ia thermonuclear supernovae are performed to evaluate whether a deflagration alone is enough to account for astronomical observations. The conclusion is that the deflagration model alone is inadequate energetically, so there must be a transition to a detonation.

Numerical Simulation of Time-Dependent Buoyancy-Driven Convection in an Enclosure,c thermal and/or mechanical boundary conditions. Numerical experimentations illustrate the resonance of convection which leads to the amplification of fluctuations of flow and attendant heat transfer at certain frequencies. The physics and utilization of resonance in the context of buoyant convection are explored.

Flow Simulation using Combined Compact Difference Scheme with Spectral-like Resolution,of the Poisson equation solver for the pressure evaluation is also improved. We apply the new scheme to the simulation of vortical flow fields in three-dimensional lid-driven cavities and evaluate its effectiveness.

The Framework of a System for Recommending Computational Parameter Choices,ers appropriate to distributed resources such as computers, databases and knowledge. Two prototype systems are implemented on a PC cluster and a Grid. Numerical experiments show that our proposed framework will be able to recommend appropriate computational parameter to users, and to extract unknown rules in the computations.
