Two-Dimensional Fourier Transform NMR: Homonuclear and Heteronuclear Couplings-Multiple Quantum Filion of a single variable, the frequency at which the signal would be observed in a steady state experiment. As clearly described by Dr. Farrar, the spectrum is obtained by Fourier transformation of the signal measured as a function of the single variable time, following application of a short r.f. pulse (Ernst et al 1966).

Application of Solid State NMR to the Lipids of Model and Biological Membranes,pids can lead to quite different properties. It has thus become essential to develop methods to study the properties of these lipids, especially in the natural biological environment of the untouched membrane. Nuclear magnetic resonance has had a strong role to play in this development.
