It was until the 1940s, when 1,1,1-trichloro-2,2-bis(4-chlorophenyl) ethane(DDT) was re-discovered by Müller, which changed scenario by killing the pests in the agricultural fields. Pesticides have saved many economic losses in terms of crop production.
