Thermal Analysis of Bone Drilling in Orthopaedic Surgery,investigates the sequential drilling of bone using a clinically relevant environment. The heat generated by standard drills has been studied, including the effects of the drill diameter, speed, and feed rate. The experimental methods, sample preparation, and analysis method for cadaveric bone drilling are elaborated.

Model-Based Approach for Predicting Thermal Damage in Bone Drilling,necrosis. This chapter presents a 3D finite element thermal model, based on the previous chapters, and a thermal damage criterion to estimate necrosis in bone drilling, particularly for sequential, multiple hole drilling in bone.

Modeling of Drill Temperature and Thermal Stress in Drilling of Titanium Alloys,rature inside the drill. The inverse heat transfer method with the combination of experimental measurement and numerical modeling is presented in this chapter to find the drill temperature during drilling.
