Laser Cardiology,Angioplasty is a method used to open coronary arteries blocked by obstructing plaques. This can be done usually using balloon angioplasty (see Figure 1). However, balloon angioplasty can be used only if there is an adequate opening that allows passages of the balloon inside the plaque. The laser catheter has been used to solve this problem.
