Reconstruction of a Scalp Defect, Rotational Flaping by secondary intention or skin grafting may be acceptable for some patients, many patients will not tolerate an area of alopecia. Flap repair may also be necessary in cases of exposed bone or those areas which will need adjuvant radiation therapy.
