Head and neck,g in all anatomical planes and good spatial resolution, particularly with surface coils [1, 6, 18, 24, 39]. In this chapter, we will describe imaging and technical considerations in MRI of this region.

Adrenal glands,ages, is a new exploratory technique for adrenal pathology. Its anatomical accuracy is at least as good as CT and perhaps superior due to direct coronal imaging. Moreover, the evolution of signal intensity allows for a certain degree of tissue characterization.

Artifacts,MRI is the imaging technique with the greatest quantity of artifacts [6, 7] degrading the quality of the images and sometimes even leading to diagnostic errors. It is therefore appropriate to understand their origin in order to try to suppress or at least limit them.

In addition to defining cardiac morphology, this technique also provides data on cardiac function and on blood flow. Large retroperitoneal blood vessels,Most blood vessels are visible on spin echo magnetic resonance (MR) images and can be identified without any contrast medium. The absence of intraluminal signal in vessels containing fast-flowing blood provides natural contrast with the signal of the wall or of perivascular fat (Fig. 1) [3, 4, 5, 11, 14, 16].
