描述Molecular spectroscopy has achieved rapid and significantprogress in recent years, the low temperature techniques in particularhaving proved very useful for the study of reactive species, phasetransitions, molecular clusters and crystals, superconductors andsemiconductors, biochemical systems, astrophysical problems, etc. Thewidening range of applications has been accompanied by significantimprovements in experimental methods, and low temperature molecularspectroscopy has been revealed as the best technique, in many cases,to establish the connection between experiment and theoreticalcalculations. This, in turn, has led to a rapidly increasing abilityto predict molecular spectroscopic properties. .The combination of an advanced tutorial standpoint with an emphasis onrecent advances and new perspectives in both experimental andtheoretical molecular spectroscopy contained in this book offers thereader insight into a wide range of techniques, particular emphasisbeing given to supersonic jet and matrix isolation techniques,spectroscopy in cryogenic solutions (including liquid noble gases),and in both crystalline and amorphous states. Suitable quantumchemical methods are also considered,

Conformational Analysis by Laser Spectroscopy,ene, . tautomerism in 2-hydroxypyridine and 2-hydroxy-quinoline, octatetraene, stilbene, and diphenylbutadiene, selected van der Waals complexes of aromatic molecules, and several hydrogen-bonded clusters containing H.O and NH.. Heavy Atom Effects in Proton Tunneling Phenomena, tunneling, is experimentally accessible to the methods of low-temperature spectroscopy on molecular beam, matrix-isolated, and solid state samples.
