Basic Applications,ter starts by looking into the two main variations of amplifiers: regular and operational. We will model them behaviorally and look into their non-idealities. This is followed by continuous-time filtering where we will look into passive and active filters. Finally, logic gates for computation are briefly discussed along with their non-idealities.

Single-Ended Amplifiers,nded, which means they have one input terminal and one output terminal, of course in addition to a power terminal and a ground terminal. Without any loss of generality, we will describe these applications using MOSFETs. These configurations can be implemented using any other technology including BJTs.

This chapter provides an overview of the general power distribution scheme in integrated circuits, followed by a discussion about regulators and converters, reference, and bias circuits.

Output Stages,hat they take a large input voltage with a large input impedance and provide a large output voltage but with small output impedance, thus acting as current amplifiers. Therefore, small-signal analysis does not apply in these cases and a different kind of analysis aiming at the relevant specifications will be presented.
