Alkaline Fuel Cellsions of circulating and immobilized electrolytes are described using mono- and bi-polar plates. A challenge for alkaline fuel cells is the carbonization of the electrolyte with carbon dioxide from the fuel and air. Finally the recent pregress of anion exchange membrane fuel cells is presented.

Molten Carbonate Fuel Cell suel reflexibility and fast reaction kinetice but suffers from mobile and corrosive molten carbonate electrolyte. In this Chapter, the principle, molten carbonate electrolyte and matrix, key cathode and anode materials are introduced. Performance and durability of MCFC are also discussed.
