The Influence of the Plate Stiffness of the Tibial Plateau of a Knee Prosthesis,es made of steel (3 mm), aluminium (1 mm) and polyethylene (6 mm). Stress analysis was made by strain gauge measurements and two-dimensional finite element analysis. From our experiments we have concluded that a compromise had to be found between a flexible and a stiff plateau. A plateau with anisotropic properties was designed and tested.

Three Dimensional Finite Element Analysis of a Saggital Split Osteotomy, using 8 noded linear elements. Displacements and stresses of the mandible are calculated for stability aided by zero, one or two Champy plates. Loading was transmitted through muscular forces which were nodally applied to provide a bite force on the first pre-molar.
