Endocardial Coronary Microcirculation of the Beating Heartharge-coupled-device (CCD) camera to visualize the subendocardial microcirculation. Images of the subendocardial microcirculation of a porcine beating heart were successfully observed in all cases. The vascular compression by cardiac contraction decreased the diameter of subendocardial arterioles and venules by about 20%.

Neuromodulation of Calcium Current by Extracellular ATP in Isolated Ventricular Myocytes it did decrease the Ca. transient. The effects of extracellular ATP were mediated independently of adenosine A. receptors and a pertussis-toxin sensitive G protein. Pharmacological characterization of receptor subtype using ATP analogs was consistent with ATP binding to a P. type receptor.

Cellular Responses to Electrical Stimulation: A Study Using a Model of the Ventricular Cardiac Actioenhanced supernormal excitability that results in unstable responses (“chaotic activity”) are observed. These observations are consistent with recent experimental results, and the simulations provide insights into the underlying mechanisms at the level of membrane ionic channel kinetics.
