The Kinetics of the Uptake and Elimination of Halothane and Enflurane, are used almost exclusively for the determination of partial pharmacokinetic or pharmacodynamic aspects [1,3, 7,10,11,16,17,19, 20, 26]. Only the serum half-lives calculated for halothane by Duncan and Raventos [11], which fluctuate between 3 and 45 min, are based upon nephelometric determinations of the halothane level in the venous blood.

The Effects of Inhalation Anaesthetics on Intracranial Pressure,flurane, are well known to increase ICP. Since the investigations of McDowall et al. [6], Marx et al. [5], Jennett et al. [4], and others, we know that halothane increases ICP, that this effect is dosage-dependent, and that the increase will be greater the higher the pre-existing pressure level is.
