Numerical Modeling of Impacts into Shallow Sea,n in the basement is found to be approximately 2. It is also shown that 200–300 m impactors can be disrupted, deformed and even decelerated during the flight through the Earth’s atmosphere. These effects and their influence upon cratering are also investigated.

Geology and Petrography of the Zapadnaya Impact Crater in the Ukrainian Shield, quartz, feldspars, and some other minerals characterize impactites, including autochthonous breccias. High-pressure phases in impact rocks consist of coesite and impact diamond; the latter occur in glass-rich suevites and impact-melt rocks.
