描述This volume constitutes the refereed proceedings of the Third International Computer Science Conference, ICSC ‘95, held in Hong Kong in December 1995..ICSC ‘95 was devoted to computer graphics and image analysis applications. The papers are organized in sections on robot navigation and tracking, scientific visualization, feature matching and detection, geometric modeling, document processing and character recognition, rendering, 3D image analysis, image synthesis, biomedical imaging, simulation and animation, curves and surfaces, application systems, and human models.

A 3D predictive visual tracker for tracking multiple moving objects with a stereo vision system,otion of each cluster, and then, to predict the next position of each 3D feature. Preliminary experiments showed that the proposed 3D predictive visual tracker can serve as a robust 3D feature tracker for an active stereo vision system.

Real-time textured object recognition on distributed systems,rch of the best matching between two textured images. Furthermore, such an algorithm is implemented on a low cost heterogeneous PVM (Parallel Virtual Machine) network to speed up the processing without specific hardware requirements.

3D model-based video coding: Computer vision meets computer graphics,ng the 3D face model and the motion parameters. The potential application of this system in model-based video compression is also discussed in this paper. Some preliminary experimental results show promising future of this approach.

The deformed cube: A visualization technique for 3D velocity vector field,or. User can interactively view the local deformation or any component of the changes. The animation of the deformed cube moving along a streamline achieves a more global impression of the flow field. This method is intended as a complement to global visualization methods.

Fast resampling using vector quantization,s of operations. We demonstrate the performance of our method in warping both images and volumes, and have also implemented a ray-traced volume renderer utilizing this technique. Experiments demonstrate a speed up of 2–3 times over conventional resampling with minimal errors.
