Prediction of Effective Stress-Strain Behavior of SM Composites with Aligned SMA Short-Fibers,hite et al[.] had discussed some technical details of such applications. The use of shape memory alloys as sensors may be related to the dependence of their properties on the martensite fraction. Conversely, the use of SMA fibers as distributed micro-actuators is also very attractive because of the relatively high strains that can be generated.
