图书封面Titlebook: Hierarchies in Distributed Decision Making; Christoph Schneeweiss Book 19991st edition Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 1999 Distributed
描述Distributed decision making is described in this book from a hierarchical perspective.  A unified approach allows to treat such seemingly diverse fields as multi-level decision making, hierarchical production planning, principal agent theory, hierarchical negotiations, and dynamic games within the framework of a general pair of functional equations. In doing so, the book covers the range from a multi-level one-person decision problem to a multi-person antagonistic planning and leadership situation. These general ideas are illustrated with numerous examples and real-life planning situations. In addition, the treatise provides a theoretical foundation for important problem areas in business administration such as hierarchical production planning, the problems of design and implementation, modern concepts in managerial accounting, and supply chain management.

Constructional Hierarchieshierarchies, they are characterized by a conflict-free team situation (see Fig. 2.3) and by symmetric information. Thus constructional hierarchies are mainly constructed to reduce conceptual and/or computational complexity.

Principal Agent Hierarchiesion. (See the definition of constructional and organizational hierarchies in Fig. 2. 3. ) The levels were allowed to possess different states of information; an antagonistic behavior, however, was not assumed to be present or effective. That is to say, the levels did not exploit their information in an opportunistic way.

Organizational Design and Flexibilitye hierarchy types defined in Chapter 2 (Fig. 2.3). That is, design problems can involve one or more decision makers, the levels can cooperate as a team, or, at the other extreme, they can behave antagonistically as in a principal agent situation.

Hierarchical Configurationsed as hierarchies that do not allow the base-level to react. The . of such reactions, however, was anticipated and taken into account by the top-level decision maker. Thus, in general, it turned out to be necessary to carefully estimate and forecast the base-level’s behavior.
