描述Over the last decade, high performance Capillaryelectrophoresis (HPCE) has emerged as a powerful and versatileseparation technique that promises to rival high performance liquidchromatography when applied to the separation of both charged andneutral species. The high speed and high separation efficiency whichcan be attained using any of the various modes of HPCE has resulted inthe increased use of the technique in a range of analyticalenvironments. The procedures are, however, still in the early stagesof development and several barriers remain to their adoption as thetechnique of choice for a range of analytical problems. One suchbarrier is the selection and optimization of the conditions requiredto achieve reproducible separations of analytes and it is in this areathat this new book seeks to give assistance. .The book is written by an international team of authors, drawn fromboth academic and industrial users, and the manufacturers ofinstruments. At its heart are a number of tables, divided intospecific application areas. These give details of publishedseparations of a wide range of archetypal analytes, the successfulseparation conditions and the matrix in which they were presente

Alexander Schmitt,Wolfgang MinkerIn capillary electrophoresis, a small amount of sample solution is injected from the inlet end of a capillary and a high voltage is applied between the two ends of the capillary, both of which are immersed in electrolyte. Satisfactory reproducibility of the injection volume is required for quantitative analysis.
