Growth Trends of Swiss Forests: Tree-Ring Data. Case Study Toppwald,siduals show, for most cases, an increased growth since 1980. Analysis of the whole time series reveals neither an exceptional rise nor any growth levels which have not been seen or reached earlier in this century.

Increasing Site Productivity During Consecutive Generations of Naturally Regenerated and Planted Bef the present generation. The increase was approx. 3.6 m (at a reference age of 100 years) during the period 1920s-1990. The conclusion is sustained by comparisons with the height growth of beech planted after beech.
