Environment and Remediation Applications,In this thesis, we have studied classical and quantum extensions of general relativity and their applications to gravitational waves, inflation and dark matter. We focused on effective field theories as they arise in the low energy limit of any UV completion, thus allowing one to investigate gravitational phenomena in a model-independent way.
