描述.This book covers physiologic, metabolic and molecular imaging for gliomas. Gliomas are the most common primary brain tumors.  Imaging is critical for glioma management because of its ability to noninvasively define the anatomic location and extent of disease. While conventional MRI is used to guide current treatments, multiple studies suggest molecular features of gliomas may be identified with noninvasive imaging, including physiologic MRI and amino acid positron emission tomography (PET). These advanced imaging techniques have the promise to help elucidate underlying tumor biology and provide important information that could be integrated into routine clinical practice. .The text outlines current clinical practice including common scenarios in which imaging interpretation impacts patient management.  Gaps in knowledge and potential areas of advancement based on the application of more experimental imaging techniques will be discussed. In reviewing this book, readers will learn: .current standard imaging methodologies used in clinical practice for patients undergoing treatment for glioma and the implications of emerging treatment modalities including immunotherapy.the theoretical

Surrogates for Disease Status: Contrast Enhancement Including Limitations of Pseudoprogression and re is overwhelming evidence that noninvasive methods are insufficient, mainly due to the infiltrative nature and heterogeneity of glioma and, most importantly, of these tumors under/after therapy. The heterogeneity of gliomas is enhanced by any treatment, since sensitivity to tumor therapy might dif

The Relationship Between Biological and Imaging Characteristics in Enhancing and Nonenhancing Gliomoma seen on routine MR imaging. Here we focus on physiologic and metabolic MR imaging techniques including diffusion, perfusion, and spectroscopy, as they relate to histopathology and molecular features of gliomas. The utility of these advanced techniques in evaluating glioma treatment response is a

,Advanced Physiologic Imaging: Perfusion – Theory and Applications, hich is a hallmark of cancer cells, is crucial for the translation of new therapies into the clinic and for assessing therapeutic effects in individual patients. In this context, noninvasive characterization of hemodynamic parameters on MRI has emerged as an important diagnostic tool. This chapter a
