Neotectonics,”. He related to “neotectonics” all movements of the Neogene–Quaternary periods causing the formation of the various present-day tectonic structures. Subsequent studies, particularly in the Alpine fold belt, showed that the neotectonic processes played a key role in the formation of both the present geological structures and the terrain relief.
