描述This book discusses the representational geographies of the Bond film franchise and how they inform our reading of 007 as a hero. Offering a new and interdisciplinary lens through which the franchise can be analyzed, Funnell and Dodds explore a range of topics that have been largely, if not entirely, overlooked in Bond film scholarship. These topics include: the shifting and gendering of geopolitical relations; the differing depiction and evaluation of vertical/modern and horizontal/pre-modern spaces; the use of classical elements in defining gender, sexuality, heroic competency, and geopolitical conflict; and the ongoing importance of haptics (i.e. touch), kinesics (i.e. movement), and proxemics (i.e. the use of space) in defining the embodied and emotive world of Bond. This book is comprehensive in nature and scope as it discusses all 24 films in the official Bond canon and theorizes about the future direction of the franchise..

Henriette Walter,O. M. Lesch,M. Musalek gendered codes in the franchise. Bond might be a ‘blunt instrument’ but he is also capable of being sensuous and affective. He is touch-orientated and his feel for people, objects, and situations is an essential element to this success in a range of sites and spaces, stretching from the bedroom to the most extreme geographical environments.

The Anglo-American Connection, ology as well as women and, particularly, American Bond Girls. His intuition, touch, and movement allow him to emerge as the dominant/superior figure, even if the infrastructural resources of MI6/Britain bear little comparison to his allies and adversaries such as the Soviet Union, China, and SPECTRE.

,Eugène Scribe, ein »unpolitischer« Literat,t is clearly gendered as women are both associated with the elements/resources and control access to them. As a result, the narratives have patriarchal significance as they convey the impression that Bond’s colonial masculinity is needed to maintain global order over the (feminine) elements.
