Rekurrensimpfbehandlung der Paralyse,nd magmatism, followed by crustal extension, rifting and subsidence due to episodic thermal interaction of the crust with the hot underlying mantle.This basin apparently evolved as a foreland basin on a rifted Indian crust, caused by continued crustal extension. Geophysicall, this basin is well studied.

https://doi.org/10.1007/978-3-662-00286-5physical (seismic, gravity, magnetic, heat flow, MT etc) and aftershock studies were undertaken over these seismic zones, which indicate that most of these regions are in state of continuous uplift and erosion, which have brought mafic crust (amphiolitic-granulitic) quite close to surface, in which stresses are getting accumulated.

Schlussbetrachtung und Ausblick 100 km. These findings re-affirm that the Indian crust, as well as mantle, is quite warm due to rise of isotherms at shallow level. Thinning of the Indian lithosphere may be due to the combination of both, Deccan volcanic event and continued lithospheric remobilization since Midproterozoic period.

Seismic, Elastic and Petrophysical Properties of Crustal Rocks: Deccan Volcanic Province,xperiencing high level of intraplate seismic activity. Deep scientific drillings in two such prominent seismic zones, provided unique opportunity to study such properties. Results obtained on Deccan volcanic and basement cores from 617 m deep Killari borehole, have given some very interesting clues to geological evolution of this terrain.
