Response of , (L.) Karst. provenances to aluminum in hydroponicsseed stands. Al concentration in the needles was negatively correlated with the growth traits. Exposure to Al caused a decreased uptake of several nutrient elements; Ca, Mg were affected mostly whereas K and P uptake were slightly reduced by Al. An intraspecific variation in element concentration was, with the exception of K and Al, not observed.

https://doi.org/10.1007/978-3-663-13661-3 epistomatal waxes, whereas in the SSB provenance, even 12-year-old needles had about 80% of their stomata with only stage 3 waxes. For the SSB provenance there was no difference in needle wax degradation between trees grown at Vallombrosa (with high levels of pollution) and those grown in Calabria (with negligible pollution).
