The Role of Carbon Monoxide as a Gasotransmitter in Cardiovascular and Metabolic Regulation,ignaling pathways. The cellular and molecular consequences of CO signaling are only partially characterized and appear to differ depending on cell types and circumstances. This chapter provides an overview of the many roles CO plays as a gasotransmitter in the cardiovascular system.

Methods for the Detection of Gasotransmitters,ion-based spectrophotometric methods such as fluorescent chemoprobes and electrochemical methods. CO detection in biological systems mainly focuses on measurement of carboxyhemoglobin (COHb) saturation. Methods such as spectrophotometric methods, GC, and electrochemical methods are used in this field.
