Chemical and Physicochemical Properties of Gangliosides,In this chapter, we briefly describe the structural features of gangliosides, and focus on the peculiar chemicophysical features of gangliosides, an important class of membrane amphipathic lipids that represent an important driving force determining the organization and properties of cellular membranes.

Radioactive Gangliosides for Biological Studies,In this chapter, we present the preparation of gangliosides isotopically labelled with .H or .C. The methods do not present specific difficulties and can be used in any radiochemical laboratory. Some procedures can be applied to both gangliosides and neutral glycosphingolipids.
