Morphologic Study of Glucagon ReleaseThe authors studied the release of glucagon from isolated pancreatic islets using thin section preparations, freeze-fracture techniques and radioimmunoassay. The evidence strongly suggests that exocytosis is a significant mechanism for glucagon release during arginine stimulation, but not for the release induced by calcium deprivation.
