https://doi.org/10.1007/978-3-7091-5295-9mption is that aging men and women do not have the right to enter the privileged space of the young and certainly not with their perceived undesirable and unattractive bodies. Viewed through such an ageist prism, aging men who display a sexual interest are liable to be seen as inappropriate or even ‘dirty old men’.

It certainly does not allow for an acknowledgement of significant and varied changes in the meanings of men and masculinities over time.
