Violent and Emotional Offending, who tend to make hot and cold decisions? It is clear that even those who do commit rash or impulsive crimes are capable of logical reason, and many, in hindsight, can see this. This chapter concludes with some of these insights.

Mixed-Up Rationalities,cumstances. Here, the blurred lines between the two types of thinking can be seen within individuals, within offence types (e.g. a shoplifting offence could be driven by need for money, or by psychological distress) and even within the same offending event. Is there a way that a decision-making model can help account for this?
