The complex loops used in these codes often inhibit the automatic vectorization of usual C compilers. In contrast, Scout is able to vectorize most of these loops. We measured the resulting speedup for SSE and AVX platforms.

Scalable Sequence Similarity Search and Join in Main Memory on Multi-coresisons in main memory. Our evaluation reveals that PeARL reaches a significant performance gain compared to single-threaded solutions. However, the evaluation also shows that scalability should be further improved, e.g., by reducing sequential parts of the algorithms.
