Alloying of Molten Aluminum: Optimizing the Present and Preparing the FutureAlloying is a very essential step in the global cast house process which has been comparatively little studied in recent years. Optimization of the alloying process would allow a more rapid adjustment of the composition in order to obtain the best quality of molten metal and an improvement of the productivity of the casting pits.

Results are compared with experiments on a lab. scale and on an industrial scale furnace. An analysis of the governing parameters will be presented.

Conscience and Freedom of Consciencef bath added and the particle size of the bath. The reaction rates with -48 mesh bath were approximately twice the rates with +4 mesh bath. The trace element pick-ups increased non-linearly with the quantity of bath.
