Introduction to Mathematical Analysise light of data from adjacent North Atlantic areas. It is concluded that the contribution of Icelandic data to the discussion of climatic changes in the North Atlantic region has been limited. The strategy and aims of continued research on Iceland are briefly discussed.

An Assessment of Some of the Factors Involved in Recent Landscape Change in Icelandrs mentioned earlier have been significant in initiating landscape change but that their relative effect depends very much on environmental factors. The major influence appears to be human pressure but climatic changes reinforce such pressures. At present the results must remain tentative until subjected to a wider analysis.

Sea-Level Change in Vestfirđir, North West Icelandenergy marine event, possibly caused by waves from the 7,000 B.P. Storegga landslide, which deposited a beach ridge full of marine taxa on top of freshwater peats at ca 6m a.s.l. As new regional deglaciation chronologies emerge for Iceland, there is a need to re-evaluate the relative sea-level histories of these regions.

Evidence from South West Iceland of Low Sea Level in Early Flandrian Timeser a very rapidregression in early Flandrian times. We think that an unusually rapid postglacial isostatic rebound due to low vicosity of the Icelandic crust and upper mantle was responsible for this anomalous sea level history.
