Observation on Wear Developments of Floor/Walkway Surfaces: Applications to Pedestrian Fall Safety Aance performance. To characterize wear behaviours of floor surfaces, dynamic friction tests are conducted between specifically prepared four metal specimens and three shoes. Wear behaviours and advancements of the metal specimens are quantitatively and qualitatively investigated by surface analyses

Observation on Wear Developments of Floor/Walkway Surfaces: Applications to Pedestrian Fall Safety Ad recognize their impacts on slip resistance operations with a suggested flooring wear model. To measure traction properties and characterize wear behaviours of walkway surfaces, dynamic friction tests are operated amongst the three most popular flooring materials with a similar range of topographic

Observation on Wear Developments of Floor/Walkway Surfaces: Applications to Pedestrian Fall Safety A slip resistance features and investigate wear advances of smooth resilient floors, dynamic friction tests are carried out amongst purposely arranged four flat specimens (polymethyl methacrylate: PMMA) and three shoes. Wear formations and progressions of the PMMA surfaces are methodically evaluated

Fundamentals For all Capacitors, ificantly affected DFC results. This chapter study suggests an integrated wear concept to recognize wear mechanisms of the floor surface and identify flooring wear impacts on slip resistance functioning. This study may have potential applications for design improvements of floors/walkways to prevent slip and fall incidents.

https://doi.org/10.1007/978-94-015-0911-4the PMMA specimens were significantly modified by primary-, secondary-, and shared-wear mechanisms and considerably influenced traction performances. Explored concepts, ideas, and findings from this chapter may have design applications for the safety enhancements of smooth floors/footpaths to preclude pedestrian fall incidents.

Introductiond theoretical foundations for the underlying complex mechanisms of slip resistance properties amongst the shoes, floors, and environments but also enhance the consistency and rationality of the pedestrian fall safety measurements.
