Some Observations on Flows Described by Coupled Mixing and Kineticss on the gas turbine combustor problem but related flows involving turbulent mixing and reaction kinetics are discussed. The concepts are oriented toward the description of the origin and disposition of species relevant to combustion efficiency and pollutant emissions.

Session Summarymbustion systems. It is clear that a powerful set of tools is being applied to this problem and that the current and past work in fluid mechanics, kinetics and computional techniques offer opportunities for the study of combustion equipment that were not available for use during the early design period of the gas turbine.
