Regulatory Institutions and Proceduresr picking breaks in the pole path. The data have been reexamined using an optimum least square fit procedure utilizing dynamic programming. The correlation found by this method for the six largest earthquakes was not significant. The results throw doubt on the validity of the proposal that earthquakes move the pole an observable amount.
