The First Discovery of Intramolecular-Coordination Bonds in Cyclometalation Reactions,c acid esters with tinfoil based on IR spectra data in 1966. The stereoisomers of these reaction products were resolved into two kinds of stereoisomers by the use of mixed solvents, and each of the two structures of these stereoisomers was determined by X-ray diffraction studies in 1968 and 1969, respectively.
