The Structural Bases of CDK5 Activity, within the general frame of reference of kinase activation mechanisms, and in comparison to other members of the CDK family. We explain how CDK5, not unlike other kinases, has made its own capricious decisions to design an original activation mechanism and distinguish itself from CDK-family relatives.

Involvement of Cdk5 in Synaptic Plasticity, and Learning and Memory,oth, synaptic plasticity, and learning and memory, including NMDA receptor modulation, transcriptional regulation and organization of synaptic structures. We aim to show that Cdk5 is uniquely placed amongst kinases to orchestrate the multi-level processes inherent in learning and memory owing to its integral role in many neuronal functions.

We now summarize recent developments in the field of Cdk5 and regulated exocytosis and also present some novel findings regarding Cdk5’s effect on insulin secretion.

https://doi.org/10.1007/978-981-13-3275-3ein kinase (MAPK), c-Jun N-terminal kinase (JNK3), and phosphoinositol-3-kinase/protein kinase B (PI3 K/Akt). In addition, it is shown that Cdk5 directly and indirectly mediates the Ras guanine nucleotide exchange factors-1/2 (RasGRF1/2) and glycogen synthase kinase 3β (GSK3β) signaling pathways, respectively.
