Imaging, stereoscopy, and tomography of the solar corona in soft X-rays and radio,accurate measurements of geometric parameters (position, altitude, rotation rate), but also the deconvolution of physical parameters (density, temperature, magnetic field) along the line-of-sight, which is most feasible with simultaneous observations in complementary wavelengths, e.g. in soft X-rays, EUV, and radio.

Long-duration non thermal energy release in flares and outside flares,ursts, storm continua and noise storms. The energy budget of suprathermal particles is estimated, possible acceleration sites are investigated, and similarities and differences between impulsive flares, gradual events and noise storms are discussed.

Coupled magnetohydrodynamic and kinetic development of current sheets in the solar corona,energy release, (4) the acceleration of particles in such an environment. The dynamical current sheet model naturally explains fragmentary energy release, and it may lead to a better understanding of particle acceleration and of the cross-field propagation of the flare disturbance.

EIT: The extreme ultraviolet imaging telescope,ive temperature diagnostic in the range 6.10. to 3.10.K. This SOHO instrument will thus probe the coronal plasma on a global scale, as well as the underlying cooler and turbulent atmosphere. The EIT‘s characteristics and performances are presented, and prospects for coordinated observations with ground-based radio observatories are outlined.

Summary and Implications for Future Researched on the scenario of self organised criticality, reproduces many of the known flare characteristics. The same model is used to provide a large number of nanoflares, which can heat the corona. We also show that this complex, inhomogeneous active region, is an efficient accelerator and reproduce the observed dm spikes and type III bursts.
