描述In the First Edition of this classic text, Roger Haines deviseda simple building-block method which enabled students to quickly learnabout the operating principles and applications of all the basicdevices and subsystems used in HVAC control. The new Fifth Edition,completely revised by Douglas Hittle, takes into account the manytechnological changes that have arisen since then. Crystal-clearguidelines on combining control devices, circuits, computers, andHVAC equipment into efficient control systems that are accurate andenergy-efficient are presented along with hundreds of charts andillustrations which provide data critical to the understanding anddesign of modern HVAC systems. These include: psychrometric chartsand tables relating to optimal levels of temperature and humidity atspecific altitudes: block/flow diagrams which show control componentfunction; circuit diagrams of important electrical control systemcomponents; schematic diagrams showing the configuration of variouscontrol systems.

Elementary Control Systems, these units to form combinations or “control systems” for the control of HVAC. This chapter will consider only small segments of the larger complete systems. Each of these is a complete control system, and large systems are made up of combinations of these subsystems.
