图书封面Titlebook: Collective Agency and Cooperation in Natural and Artificial Systems; Explanation, Impleme Catrin Misselhorn Book 2015 Springer Internationa
描述.This book brings together philosophical approaches to cooperation and collective agency with research into human-machine interaction and cooperation from engineering, robotics, computer science and AI. Bringing these so far largely unrelated fields of study together leads to a better understanding of collective agency in natural and artificial systems and will help to improve the design and performance of hybrid systems involving human and artificial agents. Modeling collective agency with the help of computer simulations promises also philosophical insights into the emergence of collective agency..The volume consists of four sections. The first section is dedicated to the concept of agency. The second section of the book turns to human-machine cooperation. The focus of the third section is the transition from cooperation to collective agency. The last section concerns the explanatory value of social simulations of collective agency in the broader framework of cultural evolution..

An Account of Boeschian Cooperative Behaviouror genuine joint action, but which is not merely parallel activity. This shows that the dualism between the genuinely joint and the merely parallel is false. I offer my account as an explication of an influential definition of “cooperative behaviour” given by the primatologists Christophe and Hedwig

Can Artificial Systems Be Part of a Collective Action?er representational abilities – including joint attention, theory of mind and theory of emotion. The behavior of artificial systems may be interpreted as if they are able to ‘read’ social hints and behave in such a way that we tend to treat them . they had mental or even emotional states. This leads

Simulation as Research Method: Modeling Social Interactions in Management Sciencent two distinct simulation methods: Agent-based modeling and system dynamics. We discuss the value and use of simulation models for supporting theory building and testing in management science. Further, we discuss the prerequisits, advantages and challenges of simulation methods..Aside of general ad
