Aeolian Inputted with minor quantities of various dense minerals (hornblende, tourmaline, garnet, epidote, titanite, rutile, zircon). O.E. Radczewski identified quartz grains coated with red-brown hematite, proved to be characteristic of a desert origin. This desert-quartz (= Wüstenquartz) was found in both glacial and postglacial sediments off Africa.

Clay Formation Through Weathering pedological formations that are exposed at the surface of land masses. It is necessary to summarize the conditions of clay genesis in such formations in order to appreciate to what extent the sediments may incorporate the materials issued from their erosion.
