Solid state NMR spectroscopy of tin compounds, X-ray diffraction procedures. These can of course only be applied when suitable single crystals are available, and this is in general not the case. The structural information thus obtained is generally correlated with spectroscopic information obtained in the gas phase (mass spectrometry) or in the liquid phase (NMR spectroscopy).
