The Role of Tubulin in Steroidogenesis of Mouse Adrenal Y-1 Cells and Rat Leydig CCL 43 Cells,lchicine, and other drugs that depolymerize microtubules, could induce steroidogenesis independent of ACTH, and from these data they hypothesized that microtubules prevented the transport of cholesterol to the mitochondria and that the mechanism of ACTH-induced steroidogenesis involved the removal of this restriction.

Three-Dimensional Structure of Muscle Membranes Involved in the Regulation of Contraction in Skeletctile and control mechanisms are highly elaborated and relatively easy to study, should turn out to be useful in studies of nonmuscle cells, where one might perhaps expect to find similar, though probably simpler, control systems.

The Regulation of Cardiac-Muscle Contraction by Troponin,g of Ca. to Tn is only the first step in the activation of muscle contraction, studies on Ca.-induced alterations in the interactions of Tn subunits, tropomyosin (Tm), and actin required to bring about muscle contraction or relaxation will also be discussed.

On Skidelsky‘s Keynes and Other Essaysct interaction of calcium with phosphorylated myosin from vas deferens increased the MgATPase activity to a level higher than that observed in the absence of calcium. Similar findings for phosphorylated myosin from vascular smooth muscle were reported by Rees and Frederiksen (1981).
